Tubs of Quality Street, Roses and Heroes shrink AGAIN despite prices in shops staying the same
TUBS of Quality Street, Roses and Heroes have shrunk again despite prices in shops staying the same.
The Christmas treats have dropped by a whopping 46 per cent in the last eleven years.
Last year a standard tub of Quality Street weighed 698g but it has dropped down to 650g.
While Cadbury Roses and Heroes have shrunk from 660g down to just 600g.
In some shops the price of tubs still costs £5.
Despite Cadbury confirming that it has reduced the recommended retail price it's up to retailers to decide how much to charge for products.
The standard size of a Quality Street tub has dropped from 1,200g in 1998 down to 600g now.
While Roses have shrunk from 1,100g down to 600g.
But bigger tubs of the festive staples are available as Costco as it is selling a giant 2kg Quality Street tin for under £12 at the moment.
The trick is known as shrinkflation, where shops charge the same price for a smaller sized product.
Earlier this year The Sun revealed that Cadbury's has shrunk several Easter eggs despite prices staying the same in shops.
Doritos, Coco Pops and Malteasers are among the 200 products shrunk by sneaky supermarkets and manufactures.
A Nestle spokesperson said: “Quality Street is back for 2019 with a refreshed range for a new season and we will be introducing the full line-up next month.

"As ever, we have Quality Street available in lots of different formats, shapes and sizes this year including the 650g tub and much larger tins for those who want even more to share with friends and family.
"Final prices are set by individual retailers but, as usual, Quality Street will be regularly on promotion in the run-up to Christmas.”
A spokesperson from Cadbury said: "We have reduced the RRP on the Roses and Heroes tubs from £8.59 to £8.09 to reflect the change in weight.
"However, as always, retailers are free to set their own prices."
