COLLECTORS on the hunt for a gold piggy bank version of Marks and Spencer's (M&S) iconic Percy Pig sweet are shelling out nearly £500 for it on eBay.
The toy is one of 26 M&S items that's been turned into a miniature plastic toy for kids and big kids alike to play with.
Shoppers collect one free toy for every M&S Food store purchase of at least £20, and they get an additional toy for every £20 more spent on top.
Collectables in the "Little Shop" promotion include mini Percy Pig packets, prawn sandwiches, cheese pizzas, and birthday cake legend, Colin the caterpillar.
Alongside the toy, shoppers get a collector’s card with facts about the item and a joke.
And you can even buy a mini collection case for £3 to house all the toys, as well as mini baskets and trolleys for £3 a pop.
Complete sets are selling for up to a whopping £170 on with one such item attracting 46 bids.
That may seem a lot for a freebie but actually you'd have to shell out £500 on M&S shopping to complete the set, plus £3 for the case, so you're saving £330.
Plus, that assumes you get a different M&S item each time, when actually you may end up with three mini punnets of strawberries instead.
But the collectable shoppers have gone wildest for is a miniature one-inch tall golden piggy bank that looks like Percy Pig.
Unlike the other collectables, only 1,000 of these were made and they're given out at random - M&S says even staff don't know if they have any to give out.
They're based on a rare full-size golden Percy piggy bank, which was only on shelves a short while to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Pig, back in February.
But now, one of the mini versions has sold on eBay for a attracting 58 bids.
For an extra chance of getting their hands on a golden Percy, collectors can head down to one of 65 M&S cafes on August 20 for its "Little Shop Swap" where one Limited Edition Golden Piggy Bank will be given out at random at each event.
As well as being in with a chance for the golden ticket, the events are designed to help shoppers complete their collections by swapping duplicates and finding their missing collectables.

But you'll have to go quick as the Little Shop deal ends next month, although there's no exact date yet.
More on food
Percy Pig fans fumed earlier this year when M&S confirmed they WILL stay veggie forever.
If you want to try something different instead, then M&S has launched new Percy Pig fruit chews that look like gummy bears.
Iconic Pery Pigs sweets have banked M&S a whopping £20million since their launch in 1992.
