Aldi is launching sausages stuffed with Red Leicester cheese
ALDI is releasing a pack of cheesy sausages stuffed with Red Leicester.
The pack of six sausages are made with 100 per cent British pork and filled with delicious reddish-orange cheese.
The new release is great news for Brits holding out for the return of warmer weather as customers can get their hands on them in store or online from August 15.
At the price of £1.89 for a pack of six sausages, that works out at just 30p a banger.
But those watching their waistlines this summer might want to take that 100g of sausages contains 294 calories.
We couldn’t find any of the other major UK supermarkets currently selling sausages filled with Red Leicester but Tesco sold a similar product back in 2012 at £2.50 for a pack of six.
That means the Aldi equivalent is 61p cheaper per pack, or 11p less per individual sausage.
For those who want things a bit spicy, Tesco is currently selling sausages with cheese and jalapeno at £2 for a pack of four.
Each sausage therefore costs 50p, so 20p more than this Aldi version.
Meat lovers will be thrilled to know this isn’t the only carnivorous offering from the budget supermarket this month.
Released on the same day as the cheesy sausages, Aldi is also bringing out salt and chilli pork belly slices, priced at £2.79, and Louisiana pork riblets for £1.89.
A 28-Day thick cut sirloin steak will also be on offer from the same day at £3.99.
