Greggs is bringing back its spicy chicken and pepperoni bake in September
GREGGS is turning up the heat with the return of its spicy chicken and pepperoni bake.
The savoury treat includes fajita flavour chicken breast pieces and pepperoni in a creamy sauce, wrapped in a puff pastry and topped with cheese.
The new bake returns to the menu on September 3 and costs £1.85.
If you're watching your waistline, you'll want to take note that the new snack contains 458 calories.
We've asked Greggs to confirm how long they'll be around for and we'll update you when we know more.
Greggs’ spicy offerings have proven popular in the past.
The bakery chain released a Cajun chicken bake earlier this year with customers declaring it a “game changer”.
The Cajun treat, which features chicken breast in a spiced tomato sauce with onions and peppers and paprika crumb topping, is available until September 1 so there is still time to get your hands on one.
Greggs yesterday revealed it would test out later hours on a select few stores across the UK later this year.
Most Greggs shut at 6pm but the new trial will see some stores shut as late as 9pm.
That's a whole extra three hours to get your hands on a sausage roll or other baked goods.
They'll also be a dinner time meal deal for customers being tested out in participating stores.
Greggs wouldn't confirm which shops will be used in the trial but said the testing period should begin by October.
The company would also not confirm the price of the dinner time deal but said it would include a hot sandwich or bake, wedges and a drink.
