Poundland spotted selling Halloween sweets including spooky eyeballs THREE months early

POUNDLAND has raised eyebrows by launching its range of Halloween sweets including Chewits spooky eyeballs and Casper candy sticks three months before October.

Shoppers were both outraged and amused as a post appeared on the NewfoodsUK Instagram page showing the bag of mixed fruit flavoured Chewits spooky eyeballs available in store now.

Described on the Poundland website as “fun treats for Halloween night”, the eyeball sweets are coloured in red, green and orange and come in 250g bags.

They come in a black net bag with a red label covering it and feature the Chewits dinosaur mascot holding a red eyeball.

As you probably guessed, they’ll only set you back £1.

Lovers of sweets took to social media to share their thoughts on the product, with some loving it and others furious that it’s been brought out so far in advance from Halloween.

One user said: “It’s only July.”

Another posted: “What's next Christmas stuff In August.”

While others were more pleased with one saying: “It’s time.”

Another said: “3 months till Halloween @newfoodsuk time fly.”

We’ve contacted Poundland about this and we will update this story if we get a response.

Chewits' owner Cloetta has also been contacted to confirm the calorie count and sugar content for this product.

This isn’t the only Halloween sweet treat currently on sale in Poundland with the discount retailer hosting a whole selection of spooky goods.

Also in the Chewits range and the same size as the eyeballs, you can buy a bag of gummy body parts and a 252g monster bag containing traditional Chewits.

There’s also Casper popping candy and candy sticks, as well as a Swizzles spooky chews bag which weighs 201g and a fight mix which is 230g in size.

Both packs contain a mixture of retro sweets including Refreshers, Drumsticks, Banana Skids and Tofee-eee.

If you were shocked by Halloween sweets in July, you’ll be even more surprised to know Selfridges has already opened its Christmas shop.

Earlier this year, Poundland brought back retro sweets including Caramac and Flying Saucers.
The discount retailer was also selling salted caramel flavour Matchmakers.
