Lidl’s massive tomahawk steak is back in stores tomorrow
BBQ lovers are in for a treat as Lidl is launching its massive tomahawk steak just in time for the hot weather.
Perfect for meat lovers, the steak is produced in the UK from British beef and will be on sale tomorrow for £14.99 per kg.
The meat, which is rib-eye beef on a six to eight inch bone, has been dry aged for 14 days and further matured to 21 days, which Lidl says leaves the steak extra juicy.
Describing the beef, the budget retailer said the meat has “a fuller flavour with exceptional tenderness and succulence”.
Those who want to take a butcher’s at the tasty meat treat will need to hurry as the limited edition steak is only available while stocks last.
You can get your hands on one in any of Lidl’s 760 stores in the UK.
but it comes at a higher price tag than the Lidl version at £26.99 per kg, meaning you’ll save £12 per kg if you go with the Lidl version.
Aldi brought out its own tomahawk steak for the August bank holiday weekend last year and it was the cheapest on the market at £12.99 per kg.
The retailer told us today it'll be bringing the mammoth steak back next month, despite originally telling us it had no plans to do so.
Elsewhere in Lidl, the German supermarket is also selling at £13.23 per kg and a deluxe dry aged Hereford rib eye steak for £18.02 per kg.
If you need a nice cold drink to wash that steak down, Lidl is also selling a version of Duff Beer, made famous by The Simpsons.
Or if Guinness is more your taste, B&M is selling a smoky Guinness-infused BBQ sauce to go with your meat feast.
If you’re looking for the perfect BBQ utensils to cook all that beef, Tesco is selling an 18-piece BBQ tool set for just £3 after slashing the price by 67 per cent.
