Asda now does ready-made sausage and egg muffins – and they’re cheaper than McDonald’s

These frozen Asda egg and sausage breakfast muffins are just £1 - that's 60 per cent less than at McDonalds and they're lower calories than a McMuffin too

IF you like a McMuffin in the mornings, check out these new ready-made sausage and egg muffins from Asda.

They cost just £1 each, compared to £2.49 at McDonald's - a saving of 60 per cent.

The bargain was spotted by a shopper in the Facebook group .

Some shoppers have said they "taste exactly the same" as maccies, while others said they are "nowhere hear as good."

You can pick up the Asda version or in your nearest store.

But Asda isn't the only option if you want a cheap alternative to a McDonald's breakfast.

sell a similar product - called the Heat 'Em Up breakfast sausage and egg muffin, which costs £1.

And and do a Big Snack breakfast muffin with sausage and egg for exactly the same price.

Aldi's sausage breakfast muffin has no egg but it does come with a hash brown and it's 99p.

While and sell Rustler's breakfast muffin - costing £1.50 and £2 respectively.

And there's no egg or hash brown either.

Asda and Sainsbury’s have hiked hundreds of own-label items including fish fingers, cereal and biscuits.

Meanwhile, Morrisons is selling beer-infused burgers for Father’s Day and they're on offer at two for £5.

And if you're after something sweet, Asda and Morrisons are selling McVities unicorn cake bars complete with rainbow crystals.
