Aldi is selling a massive 28oz rump steak for Father’s Day
VEGETARIANS look away, because Aldi's upped the steaks (get it?) by rolling out massive 28oz slabs of meat in time for Father's Day.
The "Bigger Daddy Steak" at the discounter costs £7.99 (£1.01 per 100g), and it could be the perfect treat for any meat-loving dad.
The 794g pieces of British meat have been matured for 21 days, and each one is big enough to serve a family of four, according to Aldi.
The rump steak will roll out in Aldi stores next Thursday - June 13 - as part of its Specialbuys, meaning they're only available as long as stocks last.
If you miss the boat, then fear not because Aldi is also bringing back the 16oz "Big Daddy Steak" for £4.99 on the same day (£1.09 per 100g).
And it's rolling out foot-long sausages for £2 just before the big day on June 16.
The rump steaks at Aldi are the largest ones we could find on sale in the UK's major supermarkets.
Many sell packs similar in size to the Big Daddy Steak but they come with two pieces of meat rather than just the one.
But if you're not bothered by size, the smaller 454g steak can be beaten on price.
For example, Asda is selling packs of two 21-day matured rump steaks at 475g for £5 (£1.05 for 100g)
While at Tesco you can get one 227g rump steak for £2.34 (£1.03 per 100g).
Aldi has more than 825 branches across the UK. You can find your nearest one using .
