Superdrug to sell Co-op sandwiches, salad and fruit – so you can buy a meal deal
The trial will roll out in seven Superdrug stores at airports and train stations
MEAL deal fans can soon get their hands on a Co-op version at Superdrug as the supermarket starts selling 40 of its products at the health and beauty retailer.
The initial trial will roll out in seven Superdrug stores, and it means customers can pick up a sandwich, side and drink from £3.79.
Co-op hasn't actually yet confirmed definite prices, but it told The Sun the prices are expected to be £3.79 at Superdrug's railway stores and £3.99 at airports.
The meal deal includes Co-op's own-brand sandwiches, salads and fruits as well as 300ml bottles from Tropicana Juice - see a full list of all the products in the box below.
Shoppers can also pick from a majority of Superdrugs' drinks and sides.
The launch date is still to be confirmed, but Co-op said it could go live in Superdrug's stores as early as this Wednesday - May 22.
The branches are located in East Midlands, Bristol and Edinburgh Airport, and in Brighton, Sheffield and London's Victoria and Fenchurch Street Railway Stations.
The Sun has asked Co-op how much it charges its own shoppers for the cheapest sandwich, side and drink. We haven't yet heard back so we'll update this article as soon as we do.
In comparison, Boots' meal deal costs up to £3.99 outside of London and up to £4.49 in airports and in London, while Sainsbury's and Tesco both charge £3.
But you can also get away cheaper, as Poundland launched a new £2 meal only a few weeks ago.
This can only be beaten in price by B&M's £1.75 meal deal which includes a sandwich, drink and snack.
