KFC is launching a burger with TWO layers of bacon and baconnaise but it costs £5.39
KFC's original recipe fried chicken is sandwiched between two rashers of smoky oven-cooked bacon
BACON fans can now get their hands on a KFC burger stuffed with two layers of the streaky meat.
In fact the "I Love You Bacon Burger", yes, that really is its name, may be the ultimate ode to the classic bacon sandwich.
It sees KFC's original recipe fried chicken sandwiched between two rashers of smoky oven-cooked bacon and a double helping of cheese.
The meaty filling sits atop a bed of sweet bacon relish and is topped with creamy baconnaise - a mixture of bacon and mayonnaise.
It's then finished off with a brioche bun bap. Our mouths are watering.
Now, it's worth noting that the burger doesn't come cheap. It costs £5.39 on its own or £6.39 as a meal with fries and a soft drink.
KFC already sells a "Big Daddy" and a "Bacon and Cheese" burger for 70p less, according to food blogger , but these only contain one layer of bacon and don't include the scrummy sounding relish and baconnaise.
You also need to go quick if you want it as it's only available for six weeks from Monday May 6.
It'll be in all non-Halal KFC branches - use its to find your nearest - as well as on delivery orders made via the JustEat app.
We've asked KFC how many calories are in the burger and we'll update this story as soon as we hear back - but it's unlikely to be good for the waistline.
Marcus Buck, senior brand manager at KFC said: "Let’s face it, we’ve timed this burger badly. We’re launching the I Love You Bacon Burger in a year when unprecedented numbers of people are eschewing meat and embracing the aubergine.
