Iceland’s selling cheapest supermarket prosecco – and it costs £5 a bottle

BUBBLY drinkers looking for cheap fizz will want to head to Iceland for its Prosecco next week.
From Monday, the supermarket is slashing the cost of 75cl bottles of La Gioiosa Prosecco from £10 to £5, and it's the cheapest fizz around in the UK's supermarkets.
The Prosecco is said to taste of lemons and almonds, and to be best enjoyed on its own or with a fish pie or seafood pasta.
You'll only have to pay £5 for the fizz at Iceland, both online and in stores, between April 8 and 23.
Even better, if you're shopping at Iceland anytime before April 7, you'll be given a 10 per cent voucher on your receipt.
This is then valid between April 12 and April 23 if you spend at least £25 in store, meaning you can use it to get the bottle of fizz for only £4.50.
Morrisons sells the same bottles of Prosecco for £7, down from £10, and this offer is valid until April 30.
If you're just looking for the cheapest bottle of fizz and aren't too fussed about the brand, the supermarket offering the second lowest price on Prosecco after Iceland is Lidl at £5.25 for a bottle of Allini Prosecco Frizzante.
Bottles of Prosecco at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Tesco start from £6, £6.25, £5.75 and £6, respectively. Aldi sells the bubbles from £5.49.
The most expensive among the major supermarkets is Co-op, where a bottle of its cheapest fizz - L'Orizzonte Prosecco - currently sets you back £7.50.
