SPICE lovers wanting a new challenge should head to Aldi this Thursday as the discounter brings back its seriously hot sausages.

They come with an average heat rating of 1,569,300 Scoville heat units, meaning they're 400 times hotter than a Jalapeño, according to Aldi.

The spicy snags, which were first launched in February last year with another chilli, are made from 100 per cent British pork.

The sausages have been brought back by popular demand as part of Aldi's Specialbuys, so they're only going to be available as long as stocks last.

Users of deal-sharing website first spotted that the sausages are coming back, and they've been sharing mixed experiences.

One user wrote: "Bought these last time for hubby & eldest to try! Hilarious watching them, not heard the last of it since."

While another one said: "Had these last time and they were rubbish. You are better off buying some decent sausages and having some chilli sauce to dip them in."

The sausages are only available in Aldi stores, and not online. You can find your nearest branch using its .

The meaty treat is currently the only one of its kind in the UK's major supermarkets, but if you're craving something different yet spicy, you're still spoilt for choice.

In July last year, Morrisons launched "world's hottest cheese" infused with chilli 300 times hotter than a Jalapeño.

Then in October, it launched what could be the hottest curry ever - after shoppers complained its Vindaloo wasn't spicy enough.

It was followed the same month by Iceland rolling out a curry with the world's hottest chilli.

And Tesco also launched the spiciest ever crisps made with the world's second hottest chilli.
