Lidl issues recalls on salt and pepper as it could contain GLASS
Customers are advised to return the grinders to the Lidl they bought it from for a full refund
LIDL has pulled salt and pepper shakers off its shelves amid fears they could contain shards of glass.
The alert for Kania Sea Salt and Kania Black Peppercorns grinders was issued yesterday by the Food Standards Agency because of a potential safety risk.
The size of the ceramic grinders affected is 110g for salt and 50g for pepper.
Customers are advised to not use the products and to instead return it to the Lidl it was bought from for a full refund.
A receipt is not needed.
The Food Standards Agency added that no other Kania brand products are affected by this recall.
The affected batches for the sea salt have the code: 9032AA, 9032BA, 9032CA, 9032CB, 9033AB, 9033AC.
For the black peppercorns the affected batch is 02/2024.
Both have date that is best before 2024.
In a recall notice issued on the Food Standards Agency website, the retailer said: "Lidl GB wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
