Lidl now has tiny trolleys so children can help parents with the weekly shop
The nationwide rollout of the trolleys comes after a trial in a few Lidl stores
YOUR little ones can now help you with your shopping as Lidl launches tiny trolleys for children across the UK.
The "Fun Size Trolleys" were earlier only available in a few stores during a trial.
The budget supermarket now plans to roll them out nationwide to more than 250 stores with large entrances and exits, as well as to all new stores.
Each of those stores will have a kids' trolley bay with nine trolleys equipped with a lock, but parents don't need any coins to be able to use them.
Lidl told The Sun the trolleys are currently being rolled out and that they should all be in place by the end of this month.
The nationwide rollout is an aim to get more children engaged in the food shop and healthy eating.
Lidl has 740 shops across the UK. You can find your nearest one using its store locator .
Mini trolleys are already available in 60 of Morrisons' 494 stores in the UK. Sainsbury's has previously also trialled them.
Ryan McDonnell, commercial director of Lidl UK, said: "We’re constantly looking for new ways to make shopping more fun and engaging for kids.
"We’re keen to help parents build their children’s understanding of what they eat, and we hope that our new Fun Size Trolleys will encourage kids to play a bigger part in the family shop."
More on money
Last year, Asda created a shopping trolley big enough to fit three after mum of triplets plea.
A year earlier, Aldi also agreed to fit safety straps to its trolleys after a crusading mum called them an "accident waiting to happen".
Meanwhile, this genius hack allows you to use a supermarket trolley without inserting £1 coin.
