You can now buy THREE different Cadbury Creme Egg ice creams for £1.50 each – but two are only at Co-op
There are mini cones, Magnum-style treats on a stick and 480ml tubs
THE Co-op has some eggs-iting news for ice cream fans as it's selling three different types of frozen treats that taste just like a Creme Egg.
The cracking Cadbury treats are new mini cones with a round chocolate shell, a Magnum-style ice cream on a stick with a gooey centre, and a whole tub that contains swirls of sauce and shards of chocolate.
All three are on sale at the for £1.50 each - and we can reveal that the Creme Egg Ice Cream tub will give you the most ice cream for your money.
The tubs weigh 480ml compared to 200ml for a box of eight Creme Egg Minis cones and a 300ml box of three Magnum-style Creme Egg Fun-Filled Ice Creams.
The tubs - which normally cost £3.30 at the Co-op - are on sale at Morrisons and Ocado too but for double the price at £3.
The Creme Egg Minis cones - which are made with a biscuit wafer - are new for this year and are only on sale at the Co-op for now.
How to find the cheapest deals
FOLLOW our tips and tricks to cut the costs of your shopping:
- Find the cheapest online prices: Google Shopping is a good tool for finding the cheapest price - it searches a wide range of retailers of various sizes
- Abandon online shopping baskets: Don't go straight to check-out after putting the items in your basket - it may tease retailers into giving you discount codes
- Ask a site to negotiate a fee for you: If you're struggling to find a deal, Flubit is a free site that aims to negotiate discounts for you
- Sign up to retailers' newsletters for big discounts: It sometimes means a percentage discount code, or a straight discount off your first shop
- Check when stores discount groceries: Check with your local store when they discount food items that are about to expire - this is the perfect time to nab bargains
You get eight in a packet for £1.50, which works out at about 19p each. They're usually £2.
Each 25ml treat is a dome of vanilla ice cream with an orange fondant centre, covered in a shell of milk chocolate.
But if they don't eggs-ite you, then the supermarket is also selling packs of three 100ml Magnum-style Creme Egg Fun-Filled Ice Creams for £1.50 - so 50p each.
The treats - normally £3 - are a block of vanilla ice cream with a runny orange fondant centre, which is covered in milk chocolate just like the cones.
They are also only available at the Co-op for now.
In terms of value for money, the packs of Fun-Filled Ice Creams will give you more treat for your cash than the cones if you want an ice cream you can eat on the move.
But the tubs are the best deal, overall.
The treats are only available in stores as the Co-op doesn't have an online shop.
They're on sale at £1.50 each until March 5 after which point prices will rise - so head down to your nearest Co-op before then if you want to try the eggs-ellent frozen treats at a low price.
More on Money
Iceland now sells Creme Egg cupcakes - but they're quite pricey at £2 for two.
Meanwhile, Cadbury's hunt for white chocolate Creme Eggs has been branded "stupid" and "annoying" by fans.
If you're a real Creme Egg obsessive, you can stay in a themed room for £9.99 - but you have to find the hidden listing on Booking.com first.
