Iceland now sells Creme Egg CUPCAKES – and they look delicious

ICELAND is now selling Creme Egg CUPCAKES for Easter - and fans of the chocolate treats will be very egg-cited.

Be warned though that the treats are much pricier than normal cupcakes at £2 for two.

Just like original Creme Eggs, the chocolate sponge cakes have a hidden fondant filling in the centre.

They are topped with a large swirl of vanilla buttercream icing, yellow "goo" and shards of milk chocolate.

The cakes are available in stores and - and as big Creme Egg fans, we can't wait to try them.

But if you want to buy one for each family member, it could cost you.

They come in twin packs, which works out at £1 per cupcake - quite a lot for one small cake.

The treats are a lot more expensive than other cupcakes sold at Iceland.

The frozen food specialist also sells a platter of 12 iced cupcakes for £4 which works out at just 33p per cake.

It sells nine un-iced fairy cakes for even less at £1.50 for nine - or 17p per cake.

And if you're trying to eat more healthily this January, you might want to stay away from the treats.

Each cake contains 240 calories and a huge 26.1g of sugar - that's about 6.5 teaspoons.

The NHS recommends adults only have 30g of added sugar per day, and that women should eat no more than 2,000 calories while men can have up to 2,500.

In other Easter treat news, KitKat is selling an Easter egg this year made with naturally pink ruby chocolate.

And Mars is now selling a Bounty Easter egg with coconut bits inside the shell.

Meanwhile, Iceland is currently selling Terry's Chocolate Orange treats for just 50p.
