TIME FOR SPOONING

Wetherspoons is bringing back the £20 Valentine’s Day menu for two again – including drinks and steak

The deal includes two mains, two drinks, and two desserts

WETHERSPOONS is playing matchmaker for another year by bringing back its £20 Valentine's Day meal deal for two that's just perfect for lovebirds.

The pub chain will give couples emoji heart eyes with its heart-y dine-in offer, which can include a steak main and a love-ly tipple too.

Wetherspoons is bringing back its popular £20 meal deal this year for Valentine's Day

The deal includes two mains, two drinks, and two desserts.

One of the options is an 8oz steak, which comes with peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and chips or a jacket potato.

Prices vary between pubs as they set their own prices but the same steak usually costs about £10 - or £20 for two.

That means you'll save if you get the romantic deal for two on Valentine's Day as it also includes desserts and drinks.

It even beats the weekly Steak Club Tuesday offer of £9.99 for a steak and a drink.

If you're feeling flush, you could spend an extra £5 and get a bottle of Prosecco to share too.

And for couples who don't want steak, there are plenty of other options too including a mixed grill, BBQ pork ribs and a Mediterranean vegetable lasagne.

For dessert, there's a warm cookie dough sandwich with ice cream and a chocolate brownie among other options.

The drinks options include a glass of wine, spirits with a mixer, a can of craft beer or a pint of lager, ale or cider.

If you're off the booze, then you can have a soft drink or unlimited refills of tea and coffee.

The Valentine's deal is only available on February 14, which this year falls on a Thursday.

How prices at Wetherspoons vary based on where you drink

It's not clear how the £20 meal deal stacks up against other restaurant deals as most chains haven't announced their prices for the big day yet.

Last year, steaks were taken off the menu just a few weeks before Valentine's Day because of quality issues with the meat from its supplier, Russell Hume.

The company later went bust after an investigation by the Food Standards Authority.

But the issues were fixed by Valentine's Day last year and steak was back on the menu for its £20 dine-in deal.

Some restaurants might opt out of the romantic deal altogether, so it's worth checking before you head out.
