Mars now does a Bounty Easter egg with coconut bits INSIDE the shell

BOUNTY fans rejoice, because there's finally an Easter egg with coconut bits inside the shell.

Fans of the coconut-filled chocolate bars are excited by the new treat - but it won't be popular with everyone as the sweet is usually loved or loathed.

The giant 494g Easter egg comes with one milk and one dark Bounty chocolate bar.

It will set you back £10 at , where it's being sold exclusively.

There's a cheaper way to get your Bounty fix though, as you can pick up four Bounty bars for 90p at Tesco thanks to a new offer.

That means for the same price as one of the new Easter eggs, you could buy 44 Bounty treats.

The new egg is part of confectionary giant Mars's range of giant Easter eggs.

The collection also includes an extra-large Maltesers egg which has crunchy pieces in the shell.

There's also a giant Minstrels egg with shards of Minstrels in the shell, and a giant Galaxy Golden Eggs version, with crunchy caramel pieces inside the egg itself.

Fans are most excited about the new Bounty egg, though.

One wrote on Instagram: "OMG I NEED THIS," while another said: "This has my name on, I will not wait till Easter if I can find one soon."

It's a long time coming for some fans, who have been asking Mars to create an egg filled with coconut pieces on social media for years.

Last year, one fan wrote on Twitter: "A Bounty Easter egg, but the actual egg filled with the coconut would be nice this year."

The treat won't go down well with everyone.

An online row erupted last month when disappointed chocolate lovers found a Bounty treat behind the first window of their Celebrations advent calendar.

Meanwhile, plenty of people were raging after receiving a Bounty-themed Easter egg for Easter last year - when the egg didn't contain any coconut pieces inside.

One wrote on Twitter: "Imagine if someone got me a Bounty Easter egg?? I’d have to cancel them from my life. Just disrespectful."

A recent Yougov survey found that the coconut treats are most popular with the over-55s and least popular with people aged between 18 and 24.

They are not the most loathed Celebration though. That accolade goes to Mars, according to a Yougov study.

Mars isn't the only chocolate company to bring out Easter eggs with bits in the shell.

Cadbury and Nestle also have a range of eggs with pieces inside the chocolate egg itself - including a Daim egg and a Orange Smarties egg.

Bounty first launched in 1951.
