Tesco slashes the price of Celebrations and Quality Street tubs to £2.50
Before Christmas, the chocolates cost £4 a tub so shoppers can save £1.50 by stocking up on the sweets now ahead of next year's festivities
TESCO has dropped the price of boxes of Quality Street and Celebrations to £2.50 - down from £4 before Christmas.
Bargain hunters have been stocking up on the deal as the retailer slashes prices in a bid to shift the festive stock.
Online shoppers won't be able to pick up the offer though as it's only available in stores while stocks last - which means not all branches will have them in supply.
In the build up to Christmas, the retailer was selling the chocs for £4 each but now savvy shoppers are bagging up to 38 per cent off the 698g tubs of Quality Street and 650g Celebrations.
The bargain buckets are worth picking up even if you're heading into a January diet because you can store them away until the next big family gathering.
They're not the cheapest price Tesco has sold them for though. In the wake of last Christmas, shoppers who waited until January 10 managed to scoop the biggest savings with 1kg tubs selling for £1.25 each.
Bargain hunters have been sharing their spoils on money saving forum and Holly Smith's Facebook group .
Tesco told The Sun that the sale is nationwide, with shoppers claiming to have picked up a bargain in stores in Reading, Manchester, Weston-Super-Mare and Glasgow.
The offer was first spotted on December 27 though, so you might want to hurry as stock is already being snapped up.
Others have taken to Twitter to share their excitement of the money saving offer, with one fan warning others to "spread the word" while another joked about wanting to lose weight but it being made much harder because of the price drop.
Some shoppers have reported that you can get an even better deal at Asda where boxes are selling for £2, 50p cheaper than at Tesco.
We've asked Asda to confirm the prices and will update this article as soon as it gets back to us.

This year, John Lewis jumped on the bandwagon too, giving shoppers the opportunity to fill tubs with their favourite flavours of the chocolates - but they cost £12 each.
But it wasn't all smooth-running either, as the retailer kept running out of favourites such as the Purple One and Strawberry Delight.
Bargain hunters are already busy preparing for next Christmas by snapping up festive clearance items such as cheap turkeys for £1 and 75p Christmas trees.
