Christmas veggies

WITH less than two weeks to go until the big day, Tesco has slashed the cost of Christmas veggies to only 29p each.

The offer includes five different types of vegetables, such as carrots, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, parsnips and potatoes.

The 29p deal is available from today until December 28 both online and in stores, meaning Tesco shoppers have plenty of time to stock up on the vegetables before Christmas.

Tesco has slashed the cost of carrots and parsnips from Redmere Farm from 59p, Brussels sprouts from 95p and potatoes from £1.09.

Meanwhile, it has slashed the cost of each pack of its own-brand cauliflowers from £1.

In the last couple of years, supermarkets have been going head-to-head in a Christmas price war with last minute deals.

This means it's likely other supermarkets will cut the cost of Christmas veggies this year too, and so far Lidl and Aldi has done the same.

What's included in the Tesco deal

The supermarket has slashed the cost of the below products to 29p:

  • Redmere Farm carrots 1kg
  • Tesco cauliflower (each)
  • Redmere Farms unpeeled sprouts 500g
  • Redmere Farms parsnips 500g
  • Redmere Farms white potato 2.5kg

We would still advise you to shop around to see which retailer has the best prices on offer, which you can check on grocery comparison website .

It lets shoppers compare prices at Tesco, Asda, Ocado, Waitrose, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Poundland, Iceland, Aldi, Lidl, Amazon, Boots, Superdrug, M&S and Poundstretcher.

Visit the website, add items to your basket and it will compare the prices and tell you which supermarket is cheapest based on your shopping list.
