Parents were spotted brawling in the aisles to make sure they got their hands on one, despite Aldi limiting customers to only buying two each.

It's the third year in a row that the discounter has sold the toys but this year's collection included a giant version of Kevin, which stands at a metre tall, and cost £19.99 each.

But some sly shoppers are hoping to cash in on the toys by trying to flog them for hundreds of pounds online.

One recently sold for as much as after attracting 31 bids - that's five times the original price.

When they were released, Aldi said that it had "increased the range" as well as the amount of soft toys available in each stores.

But that didn't stop disappointed shoppers complaining on Twitter that there weren't enough on display.

Aldi brought back Kevin the Carrot to star in this year's Christmas advert featuring a Coca-Cola-inspired truck.

In the first advert, the star was almost doomed after he teetered on a cliff edge following a crash with the vehicle.

But fans were delighted as the supermarket later released another advert showing the star alive and well - and defeating the evil, rotten parsnip called Pascal in a fairytale-inspired story.
