Greggs is handing out FREE Festive Bakes on Wednesday – here’s where you can get one

JOY to the world, the Festive Bake is back at Greggs - and you can pick one up free on Wednesday.

The bakery chain is handing out 1,600 of the Christmas pastries at certain stores across the UK, and we reveal how you can get your hands on one.

Greggs will give out the pastries - which are filled with chicken breast, sage and onion stuffing, bacon and a sage and cranberry sauce - free the day before they officially return to shops priced at £1.50 on Thursday.

But they will only be available at certain locations - and only from 4pm. Here's where you can pick up a free pastry:

• Birmingham – 85 New Street, Birmingham New Street Station
• Bristol – 87 Broadmead

Once the free pasties are gone, they're gone - though you will be able to pay for one the next day if you miss out on the offer.

To get your hands on one of the treats, all you need to do is turn up at one of the stores on the list and get in the queue.

Fans are always excited to see the Festive Bake back in stores. It returns this year alongside Greggs' Christmas menu, which features a pigs in blankets baguette.

They've already been tweeting excitedly about the near arrival of their favourite festive pastry.

The pastry isn't the healthiest option for lunch at 451 calories - but we expect its fans won't care much about that.

The Festive Bake is launching one day earlier than last year which should please bakery buffs.

The chain currently still has its autumn menu in stores, which features a pumpkin spice latte.

There are over 1,850 Greggs shops in the UK and the chain employees 22,000 members of staff.
