McDonald’s is doing a millionaire shortbread flavoured latte for Christmas as it launches festive McCafe cups
The Millionaire's Latte is topped with chocolate-flavour cream and a caramel drizzle
MCDONALD'S is launching a latte that tastes like millionaire's shortbread next week - and it sounds delicious.
The Millionaire's Latte is an espresso shot blended with hot milk and a caramel biscuit flavour syrup, topped with chocolate-flavour cream and a caramel drizzle.
The sickly drink - available from November 7 when McDonald's also launches its cute reindeer-themed McCafe festive cups - will cost £1.99 for a regular and £2.29 for a large, making it the priciest coffee on McDonald's menu.
A regular latte or cappuccino at the fast food chain costs £1.69.
But the new drink - which aims to taste like a piece of chocolate-and-caramel millionaire's shortbread - is still cheaper than similar Christmas beverages at Starbucks and Costa.
Starbucks' Christmas Brulee Latte costs £3.25 for the smallest size, a short.
Meanwhile Costa's prices start from £3.30.
McDonald's drink is also lighter than similar lattes at Costa and Starbucks.
Its regular Millionaire's Latte has 200 calories compared to 398 in Costa's Hazelnut Praline Latte, and 247 calories in Starbucks' Christmas Brulee Latte.
The Millionaire's Latte will be sold in festive McCafé cups alongside the chain's existing Toffee Latte and Hot Chocolate.
The yuletide cups have cute geometric reindeer designs on them this year.
McDonald's recently axed its strawberry and toffee sundaes from the menu, which left some fans devastated.
