ASIA'S answer to KFC, Jollibee, is coming to the UK and you can expect some bonkers dishes on the menu.

The Filipino chain has been described as a cross between KFC and McDonald's and is the biggest fast-food chain in Asia with 1,300 branches worldwide.

But forget the Colonel's original recipe because Jollibee's signature dish is a piece of fried chicken and a side of spaghetti, smothered in a tomato sauce that's topped with hotdog slices and ground beef.

The chain's other trademark dish is the "Chicken Joy", which is made up of a piece of fried chicken and a side of mushroom gravy and rice, mashed potato or creamy macaroni soup.

And move over McDonald's apple pie because Jollibee is serving up... tuna pies?

Sounds bizarre, right? But we're strangely intrigued.

It even has its own mascot, like Ronald McDonald or Colonel Sanders - a giant red Jollibee bumblebee.

Unfortunately, there's only going to be one branch launching in the UK for now - in Earl's Court in London and it's opening tomorrow at 8am.

It will be the second store to open in Europe, with the first opening in Milan in Italy earlier this year.

Even though most of its stores are in Asia, it's been a huge hit in the West with six-hour long queues out of the door at its Milan opening.

Prices haven't been announced yet, but if they're around the same mark as they are in America then you can expect to pay around £4.52 ($5.89) for the Chicken Joy and chicken with spaghetti is £4.83 ($6.29).

The chain plans to open another 25 stores in the UK and 50 across Europe over the next five years.

Eating McDonald's abroad can be hit or miss depending where in the world you are. But we've put together a round up of some of the most bizarre items you can get from the fast-food chain around the world.
