B&M launches gins that taste like cherry bakewells and lemon drizzle cake for £10

The discounter is cashing in on the UK's obsession with gin and stocking two cake flavoured spirits

OUR love of gin has seen some bizarre versions hit the shelves but now B&M has taken things one step further by adding two CAKE flavours to its range.

Shoppers have  spotted bottles of lemon drizzle cake and cherry Bakewell tart flavoured booze for sale at the discounter.

The gins are also different colours to match the flavours - the cherry booze is pink and the lemon flavour has a yellow hue.

The Bakewell tart take is infused with tones of biscuit, cherry and vanilla, while the lemon drizzle contains a zingy, fruit flavoured syrup.

You can mix the liqueurs with your tonic or add them to a glass of Prosecco to make a cocktail.

Both 500ml bottles of Mrs Cuthbert's gin cost £10 each and you can only buy them in stores.

Posh gin brand Smith London also does a clear, lemon drizzle flavour but you'll need to fork out £25 for 500ml - £15 more than the one from B&M.

Family-run distillery Bakewell Gin also sells a cherry pudding tasting spirit but it costs £33.95 for the same size bottle, which is more than three times the one from the budget retailer.

But the price also reflects the amount of alcohol in the drink.

Both boozes from B&M contain 20 per cent ABV - half of the two posher brands which contain 40 per cent ABV.

Mrs Cuthbert's specialises in dessert flavoured gin liqueurs and are only sold at B&M or via its website.

Brits' obsession with gin meant that sales were up £45million in 2017 - but it also means that we've had some weird flavours hitting shelves.

Asda recently launched glittery gingerbread gin, while  Weatherspoons has started serving glittery unicorn gin.

Shoppers can also stock up on colour changing booze that swaps from purple to pink when you add tonic water.

You can even buy pink "anti-ageing" gin made with pure collagen, which its creators claim makes your skin look younger.

Don't forget that you should always drink responsibly.

Asda is now selling a colour-changing gin – but it doesn’t come cheap
