Asda is selling roast turkey and stuffing flavoured crisps – and they taste like Christmas
The crisps will be available in stores from October 8 - but we've already tasted them ahead of the launch and they're pretty good
ASDA has turned the best bits of Christmas dinner into a snack with its turkey and stuffing flavoured crisps.
They’re not hitting shelves until October 8 – but we’ve already managed to get our hands on a bag and they taste pretty good.
The hand-cooked thick cut crisps are supposed to taste like roast turkey and herb stuffing.
If we’re honest, at first they taste similar to Sensations roast chicken and thyme crisps – and at 85p for a 150g sharing bag, they’re 15p cheaper.
But the aftertaste gives a distinct kick of stuffing giving it a real festive feel.
Of course, it’s got nothing on a real Christmas dinner. The crunch of a crisp could never replace the meat, roasted veggies and gravy.
Here's how to cut the cost of your grocery shop
SAVING on your shop can make a big difference to your wallet. Here are some tips from Hannah Maundrell, editor of Money.co.uk, about how you can cut the cost of your shopping bills:
- Write yourself a list – Only buy items that you need. If it isn’t on your list, don’t put it in the trolley
- Create a budget – Work out a weekly budget for your food shopping
- Never shop hungry – you are far more likely to buy more food if your tummy is rumbling
- Don’t buy pre-chopped veggies or fruit – The extra they’ll charge for chopping can be eye watering
- Use social media – follow your favourite retailers to find out about the latest deals
- Be disloyal – You may want to go to different stores to find the best bargains
- Check the small print – It’s always worth checking the price per kg/lb/litre when comparing offers so you’re making a like for like decision as a bigger box won’t necessarily mean you get more
- Use your loyalty cards – Don’t be afraid to sign up to them all. They all work slightly differently – work out what bonus suits you better and remember to trade in your points for additional rewards
They’re not the only supermarket to offer the same flavour – is selling their own version in their Taste the Difference range.
But the snacks cost 65p more than the ones at Asda for the same size bag which is priced at £1.50.
is also launching the same flavour crisps but its 150g bags cost £1.
There are four portions in an Asda bag, and each quarter contains 125 calories, compared to 150 calories in the same portion of Sensations roast chicken and thyme crisps.
You’ll be able to buy them in stores and online from October 8.
It’s not even been Halloween yet but retailers are already cashing in on Christmas.
Eagle-eyed shoppers have already spotted festive sarnies at Boots, including flavours like Turkey, Bacon & Stuffing, Parsnip Fritter & Butternut Squash and Pigs Under Blankets sandwiches.
Tesco is selling an After Eights advent calendar and it’s in the shape of Big Ben – although it might not be worth the money.
Ben & Jerry has also decided to bring back a popular flavour as a part of its winter range – the Minter Wonderland is a must for all mint chocolate lovers.
