Mr Kipling now does red and white CANDY CANE slices for Christmas – and they look a bit weird
The new treats are only on sale at Tesco for £1.50 for a pack of eight
IT may only be October but Mr Kipling hopes to get people feeling festive with its new red and white candy cane cake slices.
The new treats are slices of pink sponge with blobs of white mixed in, as well as pink and white striped icing on top.
The idea is that the raspberry and vanilla-flavoured cake slices - a version of the cake brand's Angel Slices - resemble red and white-striped candy canes, an essential part of any Christmas celebration.
They're only on sale at Tesco for now and cost £1.50 for a pack of eight - the same price as other cake slices made by the brand.
We haven't tried the new treats yet but we're unsure about the blobby appearance of the slices - as candy canes are always striped, not dotted.
But if you're a fan of Mr Kipling's range of cake slices, then you may enjoy the new version too.
The cakes contain 90 calories and 9.3g per slice which is quite virtuous for a sweet treat.
But be warned as the slices are only 33g each so it's tempting to eat several in one go and consume your daily 30g recommended intake of sugar in one sitting.
It's not the only festive treat Tesco is selling.
Yesterday, we revealed the supermarket has launched a Bailey's chocolate yule log.
Tesco is also selling a festive unicorn cake - and it looks adorable.
