PIZZA Express has launched its hottest ever pizza - but it's only available at Waitrose.

The new £5.50 American Hottest is topped with fiery Roquito peppers and pepproni and has a sweat-inducing sauce made out of 'nduja - a spicy sausage from Italy.

The ferociously hot pizza contains two types of chilli so it is bound to get you sweating.

But it doesn't contain any of the spiciest peppers such as the ghost pepper or Carolina reaper - so real hot heads may find it too tame.

It doesn't come with an official rating on the Scoville scale either - the official measure of how spicy food is.

The pizza restaurant has also launched new cheese and garlic-butter stuffed Formaggi Dough Balls, which are also only available at Waitrose for £3.

The American Hottest has already been on menus this year but it is the first time it is available as a ready meal at the supermarket.

The pizza comes on the chain's thinner, crispier Romana base, so there's less dough to soak up the spiciness.

Richard Mills, head of retail at , said: “After its success in restaurants, we’re pleased to bring the American Hottest to supermarket shelves for everyone to enjoy at home.

"Topped on our thinner and crispier Romana base, using two different types of chilli and ‘nduja sauce, it is perfect for those who like it hot and with our Formaggi Dough Balls, what’s not to like?”

Last month, we revealed that Pizza Express has brought back its popular carbonara pizza on its autumn menu.

Iceland also has a pizza and wine deal on for £5 - but you'll have to hurry as it's only on until October 7.

Skittles has also launched spicy flavoured sweets, and we're really not sure what to think about them.
