Shops including Asos, Debenhams and New Look launch up to 70% off pre-Christmas sales – here’s where you can grab a bargain

SHOPPERS can bag a bargain at numerous high street retailers as many have launched pre-Christmas and autumn sales in the run-up to the festive season.

When it comes to fashion, is offering the largest discount of the major retailers we checked, with 70 per cent off both in-store and online.

While online-only retailer, , has up to 50 per cent off.

Bargains we spotted included a black and red contrast cross hatch tunic dress at New Look for £8 reduced from £22.99 - a 65 per cent saving.

And an Asos women's Parker coat for £26 down from £65 - a 60 per cent saving.

Elsewhere, has up to 60 per cent off in-store and online on fashion, as well as on beauty, home and furniture until stocks last.

Department store , meanwhile, has up to half price off online and in store until October 14 on lines including womenswear, menswear, kids clothes, beauty and furniture.

Our tips for finding the best deals

IT might be tempting to dive in and snap up LOADS of items in the autumn sales, but here’s how you can guarantee you’re getting a good deal.

PREPARE - Research the items you want to buy and find out the cheapest price. Websites such as LovetheSales, PriceSpy, PriceHistory and CamelCamelCamel will give you historical data on prices so you can see how much you should pay.

GET FOLLOWING - Follow your favourite shops on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and sign up to deals newsletters to get the latest on any offers. We post the best deals in our too.

EARN CASHBACK - Check websites such as Quidco and TopCashback BEFORE you place your order. Cashback websites PAY you to shop. All you have to do is click through their links and the money is added to your online account, usually within 14 days.

We spotted boys loafers for £9 reduced from £17 at M&S - a 47 per cent reduction, and a set of four stowaway oak effect chairs for £99 down from £220 at Debenhams - a 55 per cent saving.

autumn sale - unusual for the retailer which traditionally only runs two sales a year - has finished in stores and online but you can still nab up to 50 per cent off in its ongoing online clearance sale.

Retail experts say the unusually warm weather has caused retailers to slash prices as shoppers simply aren't flocking to buy the new season's wares at full price.

Jill Geoghegan, head of content at retail and fashion website Drapers, said: "Warm September temperatures have led to a sluggish start to new-season trade and the lack of demand from customers has caused many businesses to slash prices in a bid to shift stock."

BDO's latest high street sales tracker reported that changeable weather conditions took its toll on shop sales in August.
