Chocolate lovers petition to bring back Galaxy Truffles to Celebrations tubs
The petition was launched on Monday and has already received 761 signatures calling for Mars to ditch the Twix and bring back the Galaxy Truffle
AN angry chocolate fan is rallying the troops to sign a petition demanding that Galaxy Truffles are brought back to tubs of Celebrations.
In 2011, Mars - the confectionery bosses behind brands like Galaxy and Milkyway - switched the truffle with a Twix.
Over the years, many chocoholics have attempted to get the sweets back in the tubs but they've so far been unsuccessful.
And even though it's been seven years, angry fans are once again demanding their return in time for Christmas.
The , which was started by Sean Duggan on Monday, has already received 761 signatures but is hoping to get the support of 10,000 in total.
In a motivating speech, Sean wrote: "Let's get the Truffle back and let the company know that we don't want something that was so popular to be replaced with something so mediocre.
"Let us show not only the heartbreak of something so delicious being taken away, but to show that this should never happen again!"
Back in 2015, the brains behind Mark Jackson said that Mars told him the treats had been removed because research showed that consumers preferred the Twix over the Galaxy Truffle.
How wrong they were.
Phillip Peter McCulloch commented on the petition: "Please bring back or my life will be eternally "bleh" and my taste-buds will flat-line"
And Kelly O'Dwyer spoke for many of us when she wrote: "Yes, Yes, Yes! I stopped buying them when they got rid of the Galaxy Truffle as I was so disappointed.
"[I am in] 100 per cent agreement, please bring back the Galaxy Truffle."
The Galaxy Truffle had a solid chocolate base and a soft truffle centre, encased inside a layer of milk chocolate.
Unlike Twixes, you can't buy the truffles in a bar format so the treats were a highlight of a Celebration tub.
A spokesperson for Mars told the : "We're always interested in hearing our fans' views on the products they love, but we don't have any current plans to bring back Galaxy Truffles."
