Confused shoppers spot EASTER chocolate on sale in Asda – seven months early

IF you think it's still too early for Christmas chocolates to be on sale, you might want to look away now.

Shoppers have spotted Easter-themed treats at Asda - seven months before the spring holiday.

Giant £3 Toblerones decorated with eggs and spring flowers that wish people "Happy Easter" were spied by customers on Twitter.

They were on sale in at least two Asda stores at Pippshill Retail Park in Basildon, Essex, and in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

It's not known if the treats are on sale early - or if they are still leftover from Easter earlier this year.

But it's definitely a mistake, as Asda's service team replied on Twitter to one baffled shopper who spied the treats in Nuneaton: "Oh wow! Not sure what's happened here!"

The customer service worker later said they had called the store in Nuneaton and removed the offending chocolates from the shelves.

Jane Carter was among shoppers left baffled by the unseasonal Toblerones.

She wrote on Twitter: "What is happening? Have I been in a coma and woken up months in the future?"

Michelle Middleton added: "@asda is skipping all the seasons straight to Easter."

Shoppers spied the treats on shelves earlier this month, but it appears some stores have been stocking the Easter treats from June.

The Sun has asked Asda to explain why the unseasonal treats are on sale seven months early.

It would be much more appropriate to see Christmas chocolates on sale as there are fewer than 100 days to go until December 25.
