Asda is recalling Crosse and Blackwell Green Vegetable & Kale Soup over allergy fears
The supermarket has recalled the soup as it contains milk, which wasn't disclosed on the label. This could pose a risk to anyone who suffers from a milk allergy or intolerance.
ASDA has pulled Crosse and Blackwell’s Green Vegetable and Kale soup from its shelves because it contains milk - which was not stated on the packaging.
Milk has been found in batches of the soup with a best before date of May 2020.
This could pose a risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk, who could eat the soup without realising.
The soup is currently sold in Asda for £1.07 for a 400g can.
The supermarket is advising customers who have purchased the soup with a best before date of May 2020, to return it to their nearest store.
They will be given a full refund, even if they don't have a receipt.
Point of sale notices are also being displayed in stores where the product is sold, which explain why it's been recalled and what customers should do if they've bought it.
According to the NHS, people with a milk allergy can suffer from a range of symptoms after eating or drinking milk, including swelling to the face and eyes, vomiting, diarrhoea and eczema.
Some severe forms of milk allergy can also result in anaphylactic shock, which can be life threatening.
