MARS has launched a limited edition protein version of its popular chocolate bar, and you can now buy it in Home Bargains.
The Mars Xtra Choc Protein Bars were spotted in the store by the Instagram account , who post about new products that have come to the UK.
A standard Mars bar has 2.2g of protein, however Mars’ Protein Bar contains 18g of protein. This comes from the addition of whey which is typically used in protein powders.
It has 183 calories, compared to a normal Mars bar which contains 230 calories.
The Protein Bar also has 8.2g sugar, which is significantly less than a standard bar that has 30.5g sugar.
However the limited edition Protein Bar does cost more at £1.49 in Home Bargains- compared to the normal bar which usually sells for 65p.
It's also , but it's only sold in a multipack of 18 which will set you back a hefty £30.
As the protein bar is limited edition it won’t be around for long. According to Mars, you should be able to get your hands on it up until the end of September.

Home Bargains is not the only retailer selling protein ranges at bargain prices.
Earlier this month Lidl launched a protein snack range, with some of the products costing half the price of big name brands.
The range includes protein balls, snacking trays and raw fruit and nut bars.
