Why was Camp Bestival cancelled?

Camp Bestival has been cancelled due high winds and heavy rain as the post-heatwave misery sweeps across the UK.

Torrential downpours and stormy gales had already flooded many campers' tents and organisers of Bestival festival's "little sister" made the decision to shut all stages

In a statement posted on Twitter, Camp Bestival said: “We are utterly devastated and heartbroken to say that we have been advised by our safety teams that we cannot re-open arenas again."

The statement added that the campsite would remain open until 2 pm tomorrow for any festival goers that wish to remain regardless of the conditions.
