It's not just prices on alcohol that have been slashed as the 36 hours of discounts also extended across thousands of products like TVs, smart home, kitchen, grocery, toys, furniture, fashion and appliances.

Some deals, known as "spotlight deals" will run from midday today until midnight July 17, when a new set of spotlight deals will launch.

We've had a look at some of the deals on booze to see if they really are as good as they sound.

We used price history website to find out if the prices are the lowest they've ever been - and you're in luck because these deals are some of the best.

Of course, these deals are pretty good so they're bound to be snapped up fast, so you'll need to act quick if you want to bag a bargain.

How do I get access to Amazon Prime Day if you’re not a member?

Amazon Prime membership costs £79 a year but non-members can sign up for a 30-day free trial and avoid paying the fee.

You must remember to cancel within 30 days, otherwise you’ll be charged.

Before you buy anything use price history tracking tool CamelCamelCamel to see if the price is really a bargain.

How to make sure you get the best deals on Amazon Prime Day

ALTHOUGH some of the deals might look great, it's important to know whether they're actually any good before parting with your cash. Here are a few things you can do to make sure you're not going to be ripped-off

  • Check to check the product's price history to see if you really are getting a good deal, or whether you could get a better one later if you held out. You can also set up price alerts to let you know when the cost drops.
  • Use to check whether the item is genuine or not. The site scans the reviews to see if they're "reliable" or not so you can decide whther you trust the seller.
  • Sign up to the 30 day Amazon Prime trial to take advantage of the Lightning Deals and free delivery. But remember to cancel the subscription before the trial is up or you'll be charged the full £79.
  • Put the items you want in your basket ahead of Prime day so that when the deals drop on July 16, all you'll have to do is pay.
