Tesco Clubcard vouchers – how to reclaim hundreds of pounds in lost points

IF you're one of the 17million people with a Tesco Clubcard you might be owed hundreds of pounds in lost points - but there's an easy way to claim back up to two years of unused vouchers.

Shoppers earn points on all spending in store, at Tesco fuel stations, or if they have a financial product with the supermarket, such as a credit card, debit card or mortgage.

Once you've collected over 150 points in a three month period Tesco sends your points as vouchers.

You collect 1 point for every £1 spent (or 1 point for every £2 on fuel) and 150 points nets you a £1.50 voucher.

There is a way to bag points quicker though through Tesco's scheme where if you opt in, you can turn points into cash within 24 hours.

But most people lose or forget to use their points as the supermarket doesn't remind shoppers if they have any left over.

How to reclaim lost points

To claim your money back all you'll need to do is log in to the Clubcard section on  and click on the "My Vouchers" tab, which shows your voucher history, including which points haven’t been spent yet.

These unused ones can then instantly be spent online. To use them in store, you'll need to print the vouchers yourself to use instantly.

Bear in mind that you'll have to make sure you're registered with Tesco first to log into the website.

To sign up for Faster Vouchers - which means you don't need to wait for your points statement every three months - log into your Clubcard account and select the button that turns your points into vouchers.

Select "request vouchers" and the vouchers will appear in your account within 24 hours.

Some savvy shoppers told MoneySavingExpert that they've retrieved more than £400 of unspent vouchers.

One user said: "WOW – I've got £413 of unspent vouchers! Double that for Christmas – I think we'll be alright. Ridiculously excited."

Another one added: "Thanks to your article, we found that we had nearly £150 of unclaimed Tesco vouchers! We have already doubled the vouchers' value online, which has been incredibly useful for Christmas."

One way to boost your Clubcard points is to Tesco about your most recent visit at the store.

You need to keep hold of your receipt and use a code on there to take part at . The amount of points you can collect is capped at 25 points per month.
