Lidl’s bestselling knock-off Aperol is back – and it costs almost half the price of the real deal

Lidl sold one bottle of Bitterol every minute in its first week when it was first released last year

APEROL lovers this is not a drill, Lidl's identical version of the drink is back and it's half the price of the original.

At just £7.99 the budget supermarket's tipple Bitterol is one of the cheapest on the market and claims to have a similar taste.

The 70cl bottle contains a mix of herbs and a hint of orange to recreate the traditional refreshing flavour of the much loved drink.

When released last year the drink was a massive hit in Lidl's stores, with one bottle being sold every minute.

But at 15 per cent alcohol be mindful of your intake and - no matter how tasty you think it is.

While we don't know the exact calories in this bottle, the original Aperol contains 567, another sign to make sure you watch your consumption.

The price of the bottle is what really stands out as competitors Sainsbury's and Tesco are both selling branded options of the Italian aperitif for almost double the price.

Available in stores from next Thursday 28th June until stocks last, customers will have to move fast to get one.

Also Asda is selling their own Aperol Aperitivo at a discount price for £12, as they continue to slash prices on summer tipples.

But at £1 more than the Jacob Creek's you might want to pass up on the deal.
