Join TV presenter Jeremy Kyle on The Sun’s amazing roadshows as we prepare to get Britain back to work
There are more than 30,000 new jobs on offer
LOOKING for work? We are hitting the road to help.
Starting on Monday June 25, our super Sunemployment Roadshows are back, with more than 30,000 jobs on offer. Hosted by telly star Jeremy Kyle, the free-to-attend events have already helped thousands of Sun readers to land new jobs.
Whether you are out of work, fancy a change of career, are looking for your first job or returning to work after raising kids, The Sun can help. Here Jeremy explains why he’s backing our jobs campaign.
"Employment rates in the UK have been running at record highs. Despite the ruinous closures on the High Street, more Brits are in work than ever. But for too many the struggle to find their next, or even their first meaningful job goes on. That is unacceptable and that’s where Sunemployment comes in.
"I’ve always thought until you’ve got a job then finding a job IS your job. And never is that spirit more alive and inspiring than at a Sunemployment Roadshow. I’ve been supporting Sunemployment for eight years and I want to be on board for eight more because in the business of helping people find work, the Roadshows DO work.
"There is no Fairy Jobmother and not everyone will find the job they dreamed of, but I guarantee you this: whatever your background or personal circumstances, at a Sunemployment Roadshow you get the chance to talk directly to employers who are hiring there and then. The recruitment at the Roadshows is fantastic. Seeing people who have been plugging away endlessly suddenly getting hired on the spot is brilliant.
"But beyond that, the Roadshows are as much about who’s helping as who’s hiring. Google will be there this year, providing free access to digital training. Amazing organisations like The Prince’s Trust and NACRO, which does so much to help so many from disadvantaged backgrounds, are signed up too.
"There will be a wealth of talent and expert advice on tap at EVERY Sunemployment Roadshow. And it’s there for the taking for whoever resolves to get up, not give up, and basically turn up determined to put their best foot forward. I’ll be at this year’s Birmingham and London shows, where we’ll be looking to do our bit to create some good job news for the country. See you there."
Google booster
SITHEE KOTECHA, from Sheffield, used the free online marketing training Google Digital Garage to change careers from primary school teacher to charity worker.
The 26-year-old, from Sheffield says: “I’m used to speaking in front of a classroom of children but the thought of presenting to adults in an interview made me nervous.
“I learned how to digitally lay out a presentation and use images and quotes effectively to engage an audience.
“I would recommend the training. It’s completely free and not only offers new skills but it also boosts confidence.”
