CHURRO YOURSELF UP

Lidl is selling churros for 99p – and we can’t wait to try them

LIDL is now selling churros - and we can't wait to try them.

A churro is a sweet Spanish snack consisting of a strip of fried dough dusted with sugar, cinnamon or chocolate.

The tasty treat is now available at the budget supermarket's as part of its Spanish range.

Lidl's ready-made frozen churros cost just 99p for a 500g pack.

But bear in mind that you would have to fork out an additional £1.60 for a 200g jar of Nutella or £1.09 for 400g of Lidl's nussa chocolate spread with hazelnut.

The only other supermarket selling the Spanish snack is Tesco, where a 220g bag of 12 hazelnut-filled mini churros would set you back £2.

A 100g pack of Lidl's churros contain 157 calories and 4.9g of sugar, although obviously this will rise once you add sugar or chocolate.

Sadly, they'll only be available until stocks last so you'll have to be quick if you want to give it a try.

If you're not really into churros, rival Aldi just launched halloumi fries.
