We've put bags for life from Sainsburys, Tesco, Aldi and Co-op to the test to see which was strongest - after all they are called bags for life.
The bags were loaded up with weights and lifted up to see which could handle the heaviest loads.
Okay, so they might not be designed to carry heavy weights, but they are supposed to be used over and over again, so it is worth knowing which supermarkets make the strongest and most reliable bags.
The mighty Tesco bag was the strongest of the lot and the winner of our test.
This bag for life was able to carry 35kg before it's straps broke, that's the same weight as carrying round a fully grown German Shepherd.
Obviously, do not put your dog in a plastic bag, but we're just giving you something to compare it to.
The bag costs 10p and can hold 20kg more than the Co-op which costs the same amount.
So if you are looking for value for money this bag for life can go the distance and handle even the biggest shop.
In joint second was Sainsburys' and Aldi's bags for life. These bags could handle a full 10kg more than the Co-op bag at 25kg each.
That extra 10kg is enough strength to hold around eight more bottles of wine that the Co-op bag.
The Sainsburys bag costs 10p and the Aldi bag costs just 9p.
The Co-op bag for life was the weakest of the lot as it could only handle 15kg before the bag broke.
This bag costs the standard rate of 10p and can hold the weight of an average three year old.
It was also the only bag to break below the handles.
As this bag costs the same as two of the other bags in this test this may not be the best value for money.
