How has the Tesco meal deal changed, does it still cost £3 and what options are on the list?
TESCO have made changes to their classic £3 sandwich, snack and drink meal deal.
Here is the lowdown on why the meal deal has changed and which options are still available for your lunch.
How has the meal deal changed?
Tesco have shrunk the size of the Coca-Cola and Pepsi bottles available in their meal deal.
As of April 6th 2018 the usual 500ml bottles were replaced by the smaller 375ml ones.
The meal deal will continue to cost £3, even though you will be getting a smaller drink for the same money.
The change only affects full sugar coke as you can still get a 500ml bottle of Coke Zero on the meal deal.
Why has the size of Coca-Cola bottles changed?
Coca-Cola bottles have gotten smaller because of the sugar tax.
The sugar tax came into force on April 6th 2018.
From now on fizzy drinks with more than 8g of sugar per 100ml will cost 24p more.
While there is an 18p rise in cost for drinks with 5g to 8g of sugar per 100ml.
Some drinks manufacturers have chosen to change their recipes to contain less sugar.
But as Coca Cola decided not to lower the amount of sugar in their drinks, Tesco have decided not to raise the price of their meal deal with the sugar tax and instead sell a smaller bottle of coke or a can in the meal deal.

What is the sugar tax?
The government has introduced a sugar tax to try and curb UK obesity.
Phillip Hammond announced the sugar tax as part of his budget statement in 2017.
It will be drink companies who have to pay the tax but these extra costs will filter down to consumers as retailers raise fizzy drink prices.
The money raised from the tax is supposed to go towards funding sports in schools.
It is estimated that the tax will raise around £520 million to help fight obesity in children.
The tax could be extended to chocolate and sweets as Public Health England aims to have 20 per cent reduction in consumption by 2020.
What options are still on the Tesco meal deal?
With the exception of Coca Cola and Pepsi bottles getting smaller the meal deal hasn't changed.
You can still get the same range of sandwiches, wraps, crisps and snacks.
