Amazon sells thousands of ‘secret’ own-brand products – but are they cheaper?

AMAZON has well established itself as the middle man between retailers and customers - but now they have changed routes.

After launching their own line of private label products this year - which includes an incredible 70 ''secret'' own brand items - here we run down all you need to know about their products - and crucially, whether they are a good deal or not.

Passion for fashion

This year the multi-billion pound company is set to become one of the world's largest clothing retailers.

Amazon's total share of the apparel and footwear sales will by the end of 2018.

For Amazon's European fashion label '''' - which launched last year - prices start from just £7, including the hoodie below.

An F&F from Tesco, a similar hoodie, comes in a little higher at £12.00, meaning Amazon is actually undercutting supermarket rivals.

Strictly for foodies

Not content with its fashion takeover, Amazon also launched , a food brand that specialises in gourmet style food.

During its launch last year a spokesperson said: "Our passion is to experience and share the best flavors on earth.''

In the Happy Belly range a 500g bag of Californian Almonds is £4.91.

Luxury Almond brand Fudco, which is sold in Sainsbury's and Morrisons, sells a 500g bag of the nuts for £5 - making Amazon cheaper by 9p.

is one of the highlights of Amazon's cleaning and home lines and is proving so popular. In fact, the products are almost always sold out.

Its 45 packs of dishwasher detergent are £5, but customers can get a better deal with Sainsbury's own brand.

You can get 60 all in one tablets for the same exact price, so it might be worth double checking prices before filling up your Amazon basket.

Fit for a King

Just when you thought their monopoly on household items couldn't get stronger, Amazon let loose its own brand of duvets through brand .   

The Kingsize ''White Duck Down & Feathers Duvet - King (6 TOG)'', has five stars on their site and will cost you £57.99. 

But for a little less you can get the exact TOG - on the same ''rating''- from Marks and Spencer for £55.

Electrical goods

Headphones can make all of the difference to your music experience, depending on where you get them.

Specialising in hardware and electric goods, Amazon's 101 decibel £13.99 headphones are £2 more than their Wilko counterpart, which is £10.99.

Snug as a rug 

Home essentials are huge in Amazon's private label remit, which is covered by their most well-known brand .

You can never have too many comfortable fitted sheets and you can get yours from Amazon for just £8.99.

That's much less than Sainsbury's who are selling similar sheets for £13.00.
