MAYNARDS Bassetts Wine Gums have been given an adult twist and now come in mocktail flavours too, including Pina Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri.

The sweeties - that are a necessity for every long car journey - don't actually contain any alcohol, but they do replicate the flavours of some of our favourite cocktails.

There are three flavours in all, including a Cuba Libre one too. The confectionery firm launched them earlier this month and we're not sure why people aren't making a bigger fuss about them.

They're slowly being rolled out to newsagents and some shoppers have even spotted them in Morrisons for £1.

Even though they were released almost a month ago, people with a sweet tooth are only just noticing them.

One shopper pointed out that the sweets would be the "closest [she's getting to a cocktail in 2018" explaining that it's because she's pregnant.

Traditionally, wine gums come in five flavours and shapes, each one with a different type of wine label on them.

They've made spin off flavours of the sweets before, like tangy, merry mix and red and black.

This is the first time they've branched into the mocktail flavours. We've not tried them yet but one taste tester said they were "".

Maynards Bassetts owner Mondelēz International - who also own Toblerone - say that the candy is aimed at "younger adults" and they're suitable for a "night in".

We're not sure they'll replace our cocktail cravings but they do sure sound good.

If you have a sweet tooth you might want to try the new KitKat Senses. The bars come in three different flavours - hazelnut, double chocolate and salted caramel.

Milkybar has also released a new chocolate bar that has 30 per cent less sugar but appraently tastes just as sweet.
