Co-op recalls breaded cod fillets over allergy fears
THE Co-op is pulling breaded cod fillets from its shelves over fears some contain mustard and milk which aren't mentioned on the label.
Customers who have bought the own-brand fillets are advised not to eat it and can return it to the shop they bought it for a full refund.
The supermarket says that some of the packs may have been packed with battered fillets which contain mustard and milk by mistake, and as a result, aren't identified on the label.
This means that the fillets could be potentially harmful to anyone with an allergy to mustard or milk.
The pack size of the product is 270g and it comes with a use-by date of April 2.
No other Co-op products are thought to be affected.
In a statement the supermarket said: "We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
