Coupon Kid who made £1,000 from his hospital bed – and has even written a book
COUPON Kid Jordon Cox may be confined to his hospital bed, but that's not stopped him from making almost £1,000 in just a month.
The 21-year-old blogger has also used the time to finish his advice book whilst he's receiving treatment for Crohn's disease.
Jordon, Coupon Kid, was diagnosed with the condition over three years ago but his health took a turn for the worse and he's been in hospital in Basildon since January.
Crohn's Disease is a condition that causes inflammation of the digestive system and includes symptoms like abdominal pain, cramping and extreme tiredness.
But Jordon, who once flew home from university in Sheffied to Essex via Berlin because it was cheaper, found a way to keep himself busy by raking in the profits from buying, reselling, and comping from his hospital bed.
He told the Sun Online: "Two weeks in, I wasn't coping well and I was feeling really down.
"I was just sitting there watching TV and doing nothing.
"I needed to make this time count and I decided to turn it around and do something worthwhile instead."
"The goal was to make the best out of a bad situation and I think I have."
Instead of sitting around and wallowing, Jordon earned about £1,000 - mainly through reselling and comping.
He also finished his book Secrets to Saving – the Ultimate UK Couponing Guide.
He told the Sun Online: "I wrote over 100 pages while in hospital, the only thing ready was the intro and that had to be rewritten too."
Reselling is essentially the art form of buying something cheap at a charity shop, boot sale, or online through places like eBay, and reselling it for a higher price.
The savvy blogger said: "Many people are selling video games and consoles in bulk - but there’s actually more to them when you split them."
For example, he bought a bundle of games for about £40 but resold it for over £100.
Some of the top Wii games go for around £10 each and the consoles between £15 to £30 when trading in at second hand chains like CEX too.
Overall, Jordon made about £400 by finding bargains and selling them for more, with £300 still to come.
When looking for bundles to buy he advised bargain hunters to check for the nearest and cheapest listings with collection.
He said: "About 90 per cent of bidders don't want to collect their products, so it's a good way to pick up some really good deals."
The blogger admitted that he had some help from his mum who has become the "processing, packaging and distribution centre" at home while he only deals with listings.
One other way to boost his earnings while being bedridden is comping.

"That was actually fun to do and I ended up winning a VIP London Eye experience including champagne worth £80."
