One of the posh burgers will usually set you back about £45 in a high-end restaurant.

But the discount supermarket is now selling (340g) for £3.49 across all its UK stores.

Aldi's burgers are made from premium quality Wagyu beef which comes from cattle bred and grass-fed on open New Zealand pastures

As always, they are part of the bargain store's Specialbuys, which means that "once they're gone, they're gone", so anyone hoping to snap up the bargain will have to be quick.

It's actually cheaper to get them from where two burgers of the same size are selling for £3 - but they are frozen.

Asda is also selling the posh barbecue food for £4.

Aldi first made Wagyu meat accessible to everyone in 2016.

It was such a hit that the store then launched Wagyu beef burgers at the height of barbecue season for £2.99 only.

Despite the incredible discount, they have been steadily increasing in price.

They went up to £3.29 in November 2016 and jumped to £3.49 in October last year - the same price as today.

The posh burgers get their name from the famous Japanese Kobe Wagyu, which can sell for up to £500 a kilo in Japan.

It has gained popularity for its distinctive marbling of fat which melts while it cooks, making for a more succulent and tender.

The meat is also supposedly healthier as the mono-unsaturated to saturated rate ratio is higher than other types of beef.
