How pizza chains charge up to £4 more for the same thing based on where you live

CUSTOMERS are forking out up to 33 per cent more for their pizza when they order from the four top takeaway chains according to where they live.
Pizza lovers in London and Surrey will be paying up to £4 MORE for their favourite dish than someone ordering the same one in Liverpool, new research found.
Now it's been found that in some areas, pizza chains Domino's, Pizza Hut, Pizza Express and Papa Johns, are charging customers more for a large margarita pizza even though the same dish is cheaper at another branch.
Papa John's was found to show the biggest price difference, with customers in Surrey and London being charge up to £4 more for their pizza.
Despite identical sizes, toppings and crusts, the American restaurant chain showed significant price hikes between stores in the north and the south.
The £15.99 price listed for the large original cheese and tomato pizza in both Surrey and London is 33 per cent more expensive than the £11.99 version in Merseyside.
You can buy the cheapest Domino's margarita pizza from branches in Hull where it will cost you £12.99, compared to the rip off price of £15.99 in London and Surrey.
Pizza Hut were also guilty of charging more for the pizzas if you order them down south, with ones in Cambridge costing £13.95 compared to £15.85 in London, where it costs £1.90 more.
Even posher brand Pizza Express will charge you more for the classic pizza topping when you order it in London where it will cost you £9.65.
You can buy the same pizza for 85p cheaper in branches in Glasgow, Stoke, Aberdeen, Derby, Swansea and Worcestershire.
One reason behind the price hikes is because all of the chains run franchises which means that different branches will set their own prices, based on the most popular dishes in that area.

The research by looked at the four big chains in 19 cities, including London, Bristol, Slough and Colchester.
