UNICORN cakes launched in Asda today - but Sainsbury's and Tesco shoppers will have to wait until later this year to buy the magical slices.
The new Mr Kipling cakes slices jump on the unicorn consumer craze of 2017, which has seen unicorn slippers, stationery, iced coffees and even Fruit Loops.
This new magical delicacy - similar in size and shape to the brand's Angel Slices - feature vanilla flavouring with a mixture of a two colour pink batter, yellow mallow and purple icing.
A yellow unicorn decoration tops the slices for full unicorn effect.
The only downside to these sweet treats is that they're not exactly great value compared to Angel Slices - plus the limited availability.
Sainsbury's and Tesco are launching the slices in March this year.
The new Mr Kipling unicorn slices retail for £1.75, but are currently on offer at £1 for six 30g slices at Asda.
But the Angel Slices are priced at 80p for six - and they're 33g instead.
So they're definitely a novelty as you could get 12 Angel Slices for less than the same price.
Earlier this year, boxes of Mr Kipling cake slices shrunk ahead of its manufacturer putting up prices.
Premier Food confirmed to The Sun Online that it is replacing its box of nine cake slices with smaller pack of eight. It is also getting rid of four cake slice boxes, in most of its flavours.
The change will affect multi-pack Mr Kipling cakes which are individually wrapped, including chocolate, angel, lemon and caramel slices. It is not changing the classic six cake box.
Premier Foods, the supplier of the iconic cake brand, is also considering hiking prices after the Brexit vote.
