KFC closes hundreds of branches – here’s the best alternatives to find great fried chicken elsewhere

KFC is all out of its name sake dish, but don’t panic there are still plenty of places to find your favourite deep fried fast food.

With just over half of KFC restaurants currently closed after their new chicken supplier failed to deliver enough chicken to stock all their franchises, The colonel is having a bit of a crisis.

KFC has said it is currently “too early to say how long it will take to clear the backlog”, even though staff are working all hours to try and get the brand up and running again.

It seems that some staff have even tried to take the matter into their own hands and source the chicken them selves.

A KFC customer in Erith, Kent filmed what appears to be two KFC employees moving boxes of raw chicken from the boot of a car into the back of the KFC restaurant in Kent.

Over the weekend KFC staff were filmed “sneaking raw chicken into restaurant” after delivery blunder closes hundreds of branches.

KFC fans have taken to twitter to express their anger over the lack of chicken, one person tweeted “Drove to two separate @KFC_UKI to find one had no chicken and one was closed. What even is my luck. Just want some fried chicken”.

Morley’s – Over 40 franchises in the UK

Found only in London, Morley’s chicken has been in business since 1985 and offers everything from double decker burgers to ribs and of course plenty of fried chicken.

There are 40 branches dotted around the Capital.

And it’s where Grime artist Stormzy filmed his hit track Big for Your Boots in 2017.

Its menu features spicy wings, wraps, burgers and of course, fried chicken.

Dallas – Created above a shop by five people in south London

Dallas Chicken started with just one shop in Tooting, South London and now has 12 shops all across the capital.

Dallas was one of the first chicken shops in the UK to sell halal friendly fast food and is planning to double the amount of its shops across the country In the next year. The shop is mostly based in London but does also have a branch in Leeds.

The largest chicken shop franchise in the UK (apart from KFC, ahem).

It started in 1986 Favourite Chicken was the first fast food chain to grace our high streets.

And it claims to be the tastiest too.

The only brand on this list with a dedicated kids meal.
