A mix-up with labelling of Laila Mint Sauce has left Asda customers who are allergic to egg potentially at risk

A "small batch" of the products contain garlic mayonnaise, which contains egg and could be potentially dangerous to anyone with an egg allergy.

If you have bought the sauce from Asda and you are allergic or intolerant to eggs do not eat the sauce.

Even if you have lost your receipt you can still get your money back if you return the sauce to the Asda you bought it from.

The batch of Laila mint sauce that contains the undeclared egg is the one-litre bottle size with a best before date of June 21,  2018.

In a statement on its website, Asda, said: "We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused.
